Our Story
Jungle Jim's farm is a working homestead built for and geared around special needs children and their siblings, special needs adults, wounded warriors and disabled veterans. The idea behind this amazing place came after the tragic loss of my little brother. In August of 2020 I got the call that my little brother had passed away and it seemed like my whole world had stopped. Bobby was not only my little brother but he was also special needs. Unbeknownst to us at the time but the farm was having an effect on him mentally that no medication could ever do. Some days he would come over not to hang out with me but just to get some animal therapy. Bobby absolutely loved coming to the farm even if it was just to help out with some meaningless task. Jungle Jim's Farm was created because of how much it helped him out and we know that this farm which he loved so much will help out so many people.
We will be learning about many aspects of homesteading including raising livestock and growing our own food. We will learn about food preservation and how to create useful products on the farm such as goat milk soap. We will have a place to fish, a place to camp overnight and hopefully soon some cabins to stay in so if you are traveling to the Houston area with a special needs child or adult you will be able to stay on the property. We will have set dates that will allow the public to come out and partake in some of the activities. Know that your contribution is going to a great place. We have a lot of work to do here on the farm to make it accessible for everyone.
We are aiming to be open Summer of 2025
